Job summary

Joseph T. Ryerson & Son, Inc is seeking a Packager to handle day-to-day staging, packing, and picking of material for shipments. The role uses proper equipment and requires accuracy in paperwork and SAP work orders for shipping/receiving.

Onboarding includes enrollment in a registered apprenticeship program, with attendance in a hands-on environment and basic computer and math skills, while physical requirements must be met.

Qualifications

• Pass a skills-based assessment evaluating reading, math, inspection & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving.
• Minimum 1 year of similar job experience preferred.
• Regular attendance.
• Basic math skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Able to pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, and mobility.
• Onboarding includes enrollment in a registered apprenticeship program.

Responsibilities

• Picking and staging feedstock for fulfillment orders.
• Breaking down bulk bundles for customer-specific orders.
• Packaging of material to customer requirements.
• Operating a sit-down or side loader forklift to move material.
• Completing SAP work orders for shipping/receiving.
• Maximize productivity for finished goods creation.
• Other duties as assigned or as changes occur.

As a Packager at Ryerson, you will be responsible for day-to-day staging, packing, and picking material for shipments using proper equipment.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Picking and staging feedstock for fulfillment orders
• Breaking down bulk bundles for customer-specific orders
• Packaging of material to customer requirements
• Operating a sit-down or side loader forklift to move material as needed
• Proper completion of paperwork and SAP work order confirmation for shipping/receiving on the computer
• Maximum productivity for finished goods creation
• All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Requirements
