Job description

Chief Buildings is seeking a Packager to join the Chief team.
A Packager helps ensure that manufactured items are ready for shipment by placing them into containers, sealing and labeling the items, and preparing the item for transport.
Education:
  • High School diploma, or GED, preferred
Experience:
  • Experience working in a manufacturing /warehouse setting.
  • Basic understanding of hand tools including tape measure and calculators.
  • Ability to operate computers, forklift, and overhead cranes.
  • Must be organized, able to multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict time frames.
  • Ability to interpret fabrication drawings to help in calculating weights and lifting requirements.
  • Basic math skills including decimals and fractions.
  • Good communication skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performs quality inspections of the finish product and touch up with paint as needed.
  • Packages and prepares metal building components for final load and transport.
  • Performs quality inspections of the finish product and touch up with paint as needed.
  • Performs all duties in safe and efficient manner, utilizing required safety equipment.Keeps work area neat and orderly.Reports unsafe conditions to supervisors.
  • Maintains compliance to all quality control procedures and standards.
  • Maximize quantity of assigned work completed.
  • Fully knowledgeable of the capacities and proper operation of assigned equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance of assigned machines.
  • Properly complete all routine paperwork and computer data entry related to the job responsibilities.
  • May operate one or more of the following: forklift, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment.
  • Capable of lifting up to 70 pounds.
  • Capable of working with minimal supervision.
Shift:
  • 1stShift – 6:00 AM– 4:30 PM
