Job summary

Trinidad Benham Corp in Sterling, CO is seeking a Packaging Operator for full-time, on-site work. You will read production schedules, transport materials, set up packaging equipment, and ensure quality and GMP/SQF compliance. Strong math and communication skills are expected. Responsibilities

  • Read daily production schedules and material requirements.
  • Transport packaging materials to the production area.

  • Meet daily production requirements.
  • Perform quality checks and ensure correct seals and date codes.
  • Document product flow, materials, and downtime accurately.
  • Troubleshoot packaging issues and adjust equipment.
  • Maintain clean, safe work area per GMP/SQF.

  • Read and understand daily production schedules and material requirements.
  • Transport needed packaging materials to the production area.
  • Set-up and operation of packaging equipment with correct materials and products based on order specifications.
  • Meet daily production requirements.
  • Perform periodic quality control checks to ensure the product is packaged according to customer requirements (including checking end and back seals and date codes).
  • When changing product varieties, follow pre-set guidelines and change out filtering screens based on product variety/size. Set, adjust, and periodically check the product flow through a foreign materials machine. Check the magnet for any foreign materials and document and report as required.
  • Accurately complete and maintain required documentation on product, materials/supplies, output, and machine downtime.
  • Troubleshoot minor packaging problems and make appropriate adjustments to equipment.
  • Communicate with management and maintenance personnel on a timely basis to facilitate maintenance and repairs.
  • Comply with company safety policies and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures, including timely and accurate documentation of required SQF forms.
