Job Description

We are seeking a talented, motivated, and creative individual to join us as a Packaging Technical Design (CAD) Engineer. The Technical Designer will work collaboratively with a diverse group including Marketing, Design, Product Supply, and R&D to bring packaging concepts to life from ideation to production and ensure packaging designs align with brand and operational requirements. You will work with suppliers to ensure the seamless translation of designs into production-ready formats that are not only functional but also enhance product appeal and sustainability.

Job Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing packaging designs that meet functional, aesthetic, and sustainability goals. You will work with digital tools and leverage techniques such as 3D modeling, parametric design, virtual prototyping, and data activation. You will develop and refine CAD models, technical drawings, and prototypes for packaging solutions across various product lines and maintain an organized digital design library for accessibility and version control. A forward-thinking mindset is essential, as you will play a key role in embracing digital tools to transform how Hair Care designs and qualifies packaging. Job Qualifications

  • Proficiency in CAD software. The successful applicant should have familiarity and experience in using 3DExperience CATIA and ArtiosCAD Software (experience with other CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Unigraphics (NX CAD) etc. is a plus). You should have strong experience in surface modeling.
  • Solid understanding of packaging materials, manufacturing processes, and sustainability trends. Experience in design for manufacturability (DFM) and packaging testing methodologies is a plus.
  • You should have algebraic thinking and experience on how to set up models to account for variables. You should have solid statistics experience and be able to design, execute and analyze Design of Experiment (DOE) studies.
  • Experience with Linear & Nonlinear Finite Element Method and 3D Modeling and Rendering tools (e.g., Rhino, KeyShot, Blender) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with data activation, digital workflows, and machine learning such as PLM systems, cloud-based collaboration tools, Python, Pandas, SQL Databases, etc. You should have programming experience, particularly in debugging and structuring code. Experience with Git version control is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • A growth mindset with a passion for embracing new digital tools and design automation strategies. You should have a “can do” attitude and be action-oriented, always thinking about possibilities on how to make things work with what you have.
