Job summary

MONAT is seeking a Package Development Coordinator to support the Director of Package Development & Innovation in developing and commercializing primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging. This role coordinates packaging projects, documentation, samples, testing, artwork, suppliers, and production activities to meet aesthetic, functional, quality, cost, and timing objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in packaging/engineering or related discipline preferred.
• Experience in packaging development, manufacturing, quality, project coordination or related field preferred.
• Strong organizational, documentation and follow-up skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project-management tools; travel to suppliers and facilities when required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate packaging development activities for new products, updates, kits, promotional programs and samples.
• Maintain project trackers, timelines, milestones, and action items; communicate risks or delays to the Director.
• Coordinate packaging samples, artwork, color standards, pre-production samples and approvals.
• Support tooling projects by tracking drawings, prototypes, qualifications, validations and production readiness.
• Maintain packaging drawings, specifications, standards, range boards and supporting documentation.
• Prepare Product Specification Sheets and Fill & Assembly Instructions.
• Coordinate packaging testing (compatibility, fill-weight, UV, functionality, adhesion, transit) and document results.
• Provide approved artwork, specs and standards to Quality for inspections and manuals.
• Coordinate samples, documentation and testing with suppliers, contract manufacturers, fillers and internal teams.
• Support line trials, scale-ups, first production runs and packaging investigations; participate on-site when required.
• Partner with Product Development and Quality to investigate and resolve packaging or production issues.
• Support development and validation of shippers, case packs, internal partitions and transit-packaging configurations.
• Maintain organized records of approvals, standards, test results and project documentation per MONAT protocols.

Position Summary

The Package Development Coordinator supports the Director of Package Development & Innovation in developing and commercializing primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging. This role coordinates packaging projects, documentation, samples, testing, artwork, suppliers, and production activities to help ensure that packaging meets MONAT’s aesthetic, functional, quality, cost, and timing objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate packaging development activities for new products, existing-product updates, kits, promotional programs, and samples.
• Maintain project trackers, timelines, milestones, and action items; communicate risks or delays to the Director.
• Coordinate primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging samples, artwork, color standards, pre-production samples, and approvals.
• Support custom-tooling projects by tracking technical drawings, prototypes, qualifications, validations, and production readiness.
• Maintain component drawings, packaging specifications, approved standards, range boards, and supporting technical documentation.
• Prepare and distribute Product Specification Sheets and Fill & Assembly Instructions.
• Coordinate packaging testing, including compatibility, fill-weight, UV, functionality, adhesion, and transit testing; document and communicate results.
• Provide approved artwork, specifications, and standards to Quality for incoming inspections and technical manuals.
• Coordinate samples, documentation, and testing activities with component suppliers, contract manufacturers, fillers, and internal teams.
• Support line trials, scale-ups, first production runs, and packaging investigations, including on-site participation when required.
• Partner with Product Development and Quality to investigate and resolve packaging or production issues.
• Support the development and validation of shippers, case packs, internal partitions, and other transit-packaging configurations.
• Maintain organized records of approvals, signed standards, test results, and project documentation in accordance with MONAT protocols.
• Perform other packaging-development responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Design, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related discipline preferred.
• Two to four years of experience in packaging development, manufacturing, quality, project coordination, or a related field; beauty, personal care, or consumer packaged goods experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of packaging components, materials, artwork, decoration methods, specifications, testing, and manufacturing processes.
• Strong organizational, project-management, documentation, and follow-up skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project-management systems; experience with specification or artwork-management platforms is preferred.
• Ability to travel to suppliers, contract manufacturers, fillers, and production facilities when required.
