Job summary

Lovelace Health System in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Pacemaker Technician for day shift, full-time, to perform device interrogations and support cardiology procedures. The role requires knowledge of pacemaker programming, anatomy, and radiation safety, with ACLS/BLS credentials and national certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Pacemaker programming experience required.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• BLS certification required within 14 days of hire or transfer and prior to direct patient care.
• National Certification required.
• CCSD, IBHRE, and CRAT certifications required within the first year.

Responsibilities

• Interrogate pacemakers and implantable cardioverter defibrillators.
• Monitor, write reports, and manage remote patient interrogations.
• Identify critical device or patient issues and inform the provider; maintain device database.
• Assist cardiologists with cardiac procedures and exams.
• Maintain and monitor systems, equipment, and supplies for the department.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations for patient safety.

Responsibilities

• The technologist will perform interrogations of pacemakers and implantable defibrillator's.
• Monitor, write reports, and manage remote patient interrogations.
• Identify critical device and/or patient issues and bring them to the attention of the provider, and maintain the device database.
• Assists cardiologists with cardiac procedures and exams.
• Maintains and monitors systems, equipment, and supplies for the assigned department.
• Adheres to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Knowledge of a variety of software applications programs.
• Knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology, and Radiation Safety procedures.
• Pacemaker programming experience
• ACLS
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• National Certification.
• CCSD, IBHRE, and CRAT certifications are required within the first year.

Preferred Job Requirements

• Associate's Degree in CVT program from an accredited institution.
