Pinehurst Resort is seeking a friendly, customer-focused Starter/Ranger to manage pace of play on courses No. 2 and No. 4 while supporting the guest experience.
You will greet members and guests, explain course conditions, monitor pace, assist in scheduling, and generate daily pace reports. Physical stamina and ability to operate a golf cart required; work in all weather conditions.
The primary purpose of this position is to provide pace of play management and enhance both the members and resort guests experience, with the focus primarily being courses No. 2 and No. 4.
High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and a minimum of 2 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of specified employees within Golf Operations. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
