Loretto in Florida is seeking a dedicated Transportation Attendant to move participants to and from destinations while ensuring safety, comfort, and dignity. Under the supervision of the Transportation Coordinator, you will assist with boarding, securing seatbelts, and managing weather-appropriate clothing, using wheelchair locks and safety belts as required.

This role emphasizes compassionate interaction with participants, families, and staff, with full-time shifts available.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience transporting individuals with mobility needs preferred but not required.
• Completion of approved First Aid course within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Transport participants door-to-door to destinations, ensuring safety and timeliness.
• Assist participants with belongings and boarding/alighting in a courteous manner.
• Ensure participants wear seatbelts; lock and secure wheelchairs; manage weather-appropriate clothing.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and restroom-safe interior; replace used supplies as needed.

Overview

Under the supervision of the Transportation Coordinator, is responsible for the direct transportation of participants who may be physically or mentally limited to and from their destinations. Position requires constant interaction with participants, participant’s family and the staff of the Interdisciplinary Team.

Full Time Shifts Available!

Responsibilities

Transport physically and mentally limited participants, door to door, to varied destinations both timely and safely. Assists participants and their belongings on and off the van and to their destination in a safe and courteous manner. Assures that participants have appropriate clothing for weather conditions.Ensure that all participants wear safety belts and wheelchairs are locked and secured into position, following the policy and procedure of wheelchair securing. Assures at every stop that participant’s seatbelts and/or wheelchair securing is intact.Maintain the First Aid kit and fire extinguisher in the vehicle, replacing supplies as they are used or become outdated.Maintain the vehicle in a neat and clean condition. Cleans interior daily and washes outside of vehicle at least weekly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED not required
• Completion of approved course in First Aid within three months of hire date.
• Current valid New York State driver’s license, free from major infractions and acceptable by our insurance carrier.
• 1 year of experience transporting individuals with special mobility needs preferred but not required.
