Job summary

ChristianaCare is seeking a Physician Assistant to join the Structural Heart Disease Program within the Heart & Vascular Service Line. The clinician will provide medical management and care coordination for structural heart disease across inpatient and ambulatory settings, working with interventional cardiology, imaging, and surgery teams.

Responsibilities include oversight of patients undergoing TAVR, TEER, LAAO, and PFO/ASD closures, coordinating care across hospital, clinic, and procedural

Qualifications

• Completion of a Physician Assistant program and board certification.
• Delaware license or eligibility to obtain license in Delaware.
• BLS & ACLS required.
• DEA and prescriptive authority required.
• Preference for 2–3 years of acute care cardiology experience.

Job description

ChristianaCare is currently recruiting for a highly motivated and skilled Physician Assistant to join our Structural Heart Disease Program within the Heart & Vascular Service Line. The Advanced Practice Clinician in this role will provide comprehensive medical management and care coordination for patients with structural heart disease across both the inpatient and ambulatory settings. This position offers a unique opportunity to partner with a highly specialized multidisciplinary team, including interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, imaging specialists, and nurses, to guide patients through evaluation, advanced cardiac procedures, and ongoing follow-up care. Responsibilities include the medical management of patients undergoing structural heart evaluation and intervention such as TAVR, Mitral TEER, tricuspid valve therapies, Left Atrial Appendage Occlusions and PFO/ASD closures. The APC will coordinate care across hospital, clinic, and procedural settings to ensure seamless transitions, while also engaging patients and families in education and shared decision-making. In addition to direct patient care, the APC will contribute to program growth, quality initiatives, and advancing the team’s efforts to remain at the forefront of innovation in structural heart disease therapiesThis position offers an exceptional opportunity to join a pioneering program in Delaware advancing the field in structural heart disease therapies and to help deliver life-changing care to patients and families across our community.

Work Schedule

Full time – 80 hours, Day Shift, Monday through Friday, no holidays, no weekends, no on-call.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Completion of a Physician Assistant program and board certification as a physician assistant.
• License or license eligible in the State of Delaware
• BLS & ACLS required
• DEA & Prescriptive authority required
• Prefer at least 2-3 years of experience working in an acute care setting; previous experience in cardiology and structural heart disease highly desired.
