Mass General Brigham in Boston is seeking a licensed Physician Assistant to assess and manage diverse patient populations across medical and surgical settings. You will develop care plans, perform histories and exams, order tests, and prescribe medications in accordance with policies.

Strong communication skills, 2+ years of PA experience, and a Master's degree are required. This onsite role is based at 55 Fruit Street with a standard 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies or equivalent.
  • PA license in state required.
  • Minimum 2 years of PA experience.
  • Ability to perform histories, exams, orders, and prescriptions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care, counseling, and teaching across ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural settings.
  • Perform complete histories and physical examinations.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
  • Develop care plans and follow-up based on findings.
  • Order medications and write prescriptions according to policies.
  • Document admissions, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Perform bedside procedures as appropriate to patient population.

Job Summary

Schedule: Monday-Friday day shift, full-time, 40 hours per week

Summary

The Physician Assistant (PA) is a licensed provider. The PA is responsible for the assessment and management of various populations of patients, medical and/or surgical, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, development of appropriate plans of care and ongoing evaluation. May also perform additional duties, such as precepting a small group of learners. Does this position require Patient Care?Yes

Essential Functions
  • Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to a designated patient population in the ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural setting.
  • Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
  • Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
  • Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Consistently provides high quality and timely documentation including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes and discharge summaries.
  • Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.
