Job summary

WakeMed is seeking a Bariatrics and General Surgery PA or NP/RNFA to join our Cary campus with occasional shifts at the Raleigh campus. The role requires 1 year Bariatric Surgery experience or 2 years General Surgery with robotic first assist, and licensure as a PA or NP with RNFA and board certification.

Qualifications

• Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner w/RNFA and Board Certification in Area of Practice Required.
• Education requirements include PA or nursing degrees as specified in the posting.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent medical care under supervision of Medical Director and physician partners.
• Care delivery across inpatient and outpatient settings with referrals, consults, daily rounds, notes, discharge summaries, procedures, and pre/post procedure care.
• Educate PA/NP/CNM students and adhere to regulatory guidelines and practice policies.

The Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) will work under the general supervision of their Medical Director all physician partners and their APP Manager in WakeMed Physician Practices to deliver competent medical care to patients at WakeMed. This position can consist of both inpatient and outpatient care depending on the needs of the service and is outlined in the clinical job expectations. This may include completion of referrals, consults, daily patient rounds, daily notes, discharge summaries, procedures, clinic notes, pre and post procedure care, prescribing, and patient care follow-ups. Will work closely with other healthcare providers in a collaborative multidisciplinary approach to maximize the care we provide to our patients. As a healthcare professional will function as an educator for PA/NP/CNM students from healthcare education programs. Within this position the PA/NP will maintain the scope of practice to be consistent with the policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines governed by the North Carolina Medical Board or North Carolina Board of Nursing and any other federal or state regulatory agencies as well as the policies and procedures of WakeMed. Additional certifications such as Advanced Life Support may be required based on clinical area of practice outlined in the clinical job expectations and reviewed annually during the annual review process.
