Job description

University of Pittsburgh Physicians is hiring a Full-Time Physician Assistant or Acute Care Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner to support the Heart & Vascular Institute (HVI) Cardiac Surgery team.

Hours: Four 10-hour shifts per week

Location: UPMC Presbyterian

Position Specifics: Vein and radial harvesting with endoscope. Hospital rounding (75%) and Operating Room (25%).

Staff Level:

The HVI Surgical Staff APP is a Physician Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner responsible for setting care standards, managing patient care with supervision and collaboration with physicians, and beginning leadership roles. The role involves establishing relationships with healthcare team members and the community, with placement based on experience.

The successful candidate will be placed according to years and months of experience for employment purposes.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply professional knowledge and skills appropriate for the setting. Communicate effectively and demonstrate critical thinking. Incorporate standards of practice and system goals to improve safety, quality, and satisfaction. Develop and implement care plans considering patient needs.
