Atrium Health, AH Charlotte at Carolinas Medical Center, seeks an inpatient Hepatology Advanced Practice Provider (APP)—Physician Assistants or Acute Care Nurse Practitioners.

Join a multidisciplinary team including hepatologists, GI/liver fellow, APPs, transplant coordinators, transplant pharmacist, social worker and dietitian to deliver team-based patient care in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• 2 years of APP experience in gastroenterology, hepatology or transplant preferred.
• PA: Master's Degree and NCCPA certification preferred.
• ACNP: Master's or DNP, RN license and board certification required.

Responsibilities

• Manage patients with cirrhosis and related complications, including transplant evaluation and post-transplant care.
• Provide consultations, daily rounds, H&Ps, discharges and patient education.

APP - Hepatology, Inpatient - Charlotte, NC

Atrium Health is seeking aninpatient Hepatology Advanced Practice Provider (APP)for our AH Charlotte location at Carolinas Medical Center. Due to the patient population and acuity, we are looking forPhysician AssistantsorAcute Care Nurse Practitioners.

Highlights of this role:

• Inpatient, 7 days on/7 days off;
• You will be a part of our dynamic, multi-disciplinary team providing excellent care to patients with a variety of liver diseases.
• Join our team of Hepatologists, GI/liver fellow,APPs, in house transplant coordinators, transplant pharmacist, social worker and dietician working together to provide team focused patient care

What you’ll do:

• Manage patients with cirrhosis and the associated complications, as well as management of patients undergoing liver transplant evaluation and post-transplant patients admitted to the hospital
• Consultations, daily rounds, progress notes, H&Ps, discharges, ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing, provide patient/family education and counseling for patients with chronic liver disease/cirrhosis.

Who you are:

• Experienced APPwith 2 years of either Gastroenterology experience, Hepatology/transplant, hospitalist medicine, internal medicine experience preferred
• New gradsconsidered if completing an APP fellowship, such as hospitalist medicine, ICU medicine or critical care
• Physician Assistant– Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required, Master’s Degree preferred. Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred.
• Acute Care Nurse Practitioner– Master’s Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required. License to practice as a Registered Nurse required. Certification in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body required. Acute Care board certification needed based upon population and acuity served.
• APP who can demonstrate appropriate critical thinking and interpersonal skills.
• APP who can prioritize and make proactive decisions.
