Hackensack Meridian Health in New Jersey seeks a Neurosurgery Inpatient Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (RNFA/First Assist) to assist, monitor, and manage daily patient needs under physician supervision. The role performs standard PA/NP duties with neurosurgical teams across multiple campus sites (JSUMC, OUMC, RMC).

The position requires licensure as NP or PA, prescriptive authority per NJ law, NPI, board certification (AANP/ANCC), ACLS, and capability to obtain RNFA.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited nursing program.
• Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Maintains clinical competencies through continuing education and clinical practice.
• Experience in a relevant patient care setting (or as regulations dictate).
• National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Prescriptive authority through CDS and DEA registration according to New Jersey state law.
• Collaborative agreement with physicians on staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms
• Successful completion of an approved physician's assistant program.

2. Advance Practice Nurse License.

5. AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification.
6. RNFA or willing to obtain
7. Acute Care NP cert

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

1. Successful completion of an approved physician's assistant program, accredited by the AMA Council on Medical Education.
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
3. Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms

Licenses and Certifications Required:

1. Physician Assistant License.
2. National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
3. BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
4. AHA. Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification.
