Job summary

The Hempfield School District is seeking PA Certified Substitute Teachers to support classrooms across the district with an extended day-to-day and long-term substitute capacity. This role offers a flexible schedule and the opportunity to impact students’ learning in a active, supportive environment.

Assignments include English 7-12 at Centerville Middle School, with start ASAP and an October 12 window for supplemental learning support.

Qualifications

• CurrentPA Criminal History background check.
• Current Federal Criminal background check.
• CurrentChild Abuse background check.
• Proof of TB test, results must be within the 90 days from hire date.

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
• Follows teacher's instructional plan to meet individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students' maturity and interests.
• Follows written plan based on objectives for all lessons, communicates these objectives to students.
• Encourages students to set and maintain positive standards of classroom behavior.
• Strives to implement district mission, educational philosophy, and instructional goals.
• Assesses student progress and leaves a written report for the teacher.
• Takes precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintains accurate, complete records as required by law and policy.
• Assists administration in implementing policies and rules governing student life and conduct.
