Hempfield School District seeks PA-certified substitute teachers to support students district-wide across all curricular areas. This extended day to day and long-term substitute role offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to impact student learning in the Hempfield community.

Qualified candidates must hold PA Certifications in Special Education K-12 and Elementary K-6 (Grade 1 at East Petersburg Elementary).

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid PA certification in Special Education K-12.
• Elementary certification K-6; Grade 1 at East Petersburg Elementary.
• PA Certified Substitute Teacher eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes at designated locations and times.
• Follows teacher's instructional plan to meet students’ needs and abilities.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for students.
• Communicates lesson objectives to students and follows written plans.
• Encourages students to maintain positive classroom behavior.
• Supports district mission, philosophy, and instructional goals.
• Assesses student progress and leaves written reports for the teacher.
• Protects students, equipment, and facilities.
• Maintains accurate records and assists with policy enforcement.
• Current openings include Centerville Middle School with start ASAP or by October 12.
