Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum 1 year of related hospitality or service experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and guest-service orientation essential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Professional demeanor and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests and seat them at tables or in waiting areas.
  • Provide guests with menus and answer questions about dishes.
  • Maintain a courteous, professional demeanor at all times.
  • Coordinate with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth dining experiences.
  • Manage reservations and waiting lists, communicating wait times clearly.
  • Assist in planning events or functions and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere.

We are seeking a dynamic Restaurant Host to join our team. A successful candidate will have a genuine passion for the hospitality industry and an entrepreneurial spirit.


Responsibilities


  1. Must be courteous and gracious, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times

  2. Establish and maintain good communications and team work with fellow colleagues and other departments within the hotel

  3. Offer guests an enjoyable experience that conforms to the company’s standards of excellence, professionalism and friendliness

  4. Provide guests with menus

  5. Greet guests and seat them at tables or in waiting areas

  6. Assign patrons to tables suitable for their needs

  7. Inspect dining and serving areas to ensure cleanliness and proper setup

  8. Speak with patrons to ensure satisfaction with food and service, and to respond to complaints

  9. Receive and record patrons' dining reservations

  10. Maintain contact with Kitchen staff, management, serving staff, and customers to ensure that dining details are handled properly, and customers' concerns are addressed

  11. Inform patrons of establishment specialties and features

  12. Direct patrons to waiting areas such as lounges

  13. Operate cash registers to accept payments for food and beverages as needed

  14. Prepare cash receipts after establishments close

  15. Supervise and coordinate activities of dining room staff to ensure that patrons receive prompt and courteous service

  16. Assist in planning functions or other special events and services

  17. Maintain an increased awareness of safety issues throughout the hotel

  18. Participate in scheduled departmental and administrative meetings as requested


Core Competencies


  1. High School diploma or general education degree (GED)

  2. One (1) year related experience in hospitality or service industry preferred
