Job summary

Nooksack Northwood Casino is seeking a Barback to support bartenders and ensure smooth bar service in a fast-paced casino environment.

Responsibilities include stocking liquor, garnishes, ice, and glassware, as well as bussing and maintaining bar cleanliness. Must be 21+, obtain required licenses, and maintain permits. This part-time, non-exempt role offers opportunities to grow within Food & Beverage.

Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Non-Gaming Nooksack Tribal Gaming Agency License.
  • Must obtain and maintain Washington State Food Handlers Permit.
  • Tips MAST Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Organizing supplies and restocking behind the bar.
  • Support bartenders and other staff to ensure smooth service.
  • Prepare and serve drinks as needed and maintain bar cleanliness.
  • Bussing duties: clear cups and trash from bartop and tables.
  • Maintain bar appearance and bar tools in proper position.
  • Restock ice bins and re-stock garnishes and liquor as needed.
  • Follow opening/closing and key-holding procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service and answer customers’ questions.

Job Title: Barback Position Category: RegularDepartment: Food & Beverage License Class: Non-GamingDOL Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)/Part Time Cash Handling: NoLicensing Title: BarbackPURPOSE OF POSITIONBarbacks will be responsible for helping Bartenders open and/or close the bar. They keep the bar stocked with liquor, beer, spirits, garnishes, ice cubes and other products needed throughout their shift. They ensure that glasses, stirrers, shakers, strainers and other bartending tools are clean and in the proper position for Bartenders.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOrganizing suppliesSupporting other bar staff so service runs smoothlyPerforming tasks to support the bartender and other staff membersPreparing and serving drinks, as neededRestock liquor, mixers, and garnishes behind the barPerform bussing responsibilities such as clearing empty cups and trash from bartop and tablesMaintain overall appearance and cleanliness of bar (i.e. wipe down surfaces, push chairs and stools in, arrange drink menus and salt and pepper shakers, etc.)Perform clean-ups of spills or other customer accidents as neededEnsure bartenders are equipped with clean rags at bartending stations at all timesClean cups and dishes in front of house; adhere to dish-washing proceduresEnsure bartenders are equipped with clean glasses in front of house at all timesCheck and re-stock ice binsAssist bartenders with back of house liquor inventoryFollow all opening, closing, and key-holding procedures during each shiftEnsure customer satisfaction by smiling and answering any questions our customers may askBecause of the Casino’s commitment to our guests and customer service, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of duties from time to time.
