Job summary

Luxus in Overland Park, KS is seeking a Mechanical Designer with a strong P&ID focus to translate engineering concepts into clear, buildable design documentation. This hands-on role emphasizes accuracy and teamwork in a process-driven setting.

The ideal candidate will work with AutoCAD and Plant 3D to create P&IDs, layouts, and BOMs, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams. No PE license is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Drafting, Mechanical Design Technology, or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience as a mechanical designer, including P&ID drafting and interpretation.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Plant 3D, or similar CAD platforms.
• Familiarity with piping, HVAC, tanks, pumps and valves.

Responsibilities

• Create and revise P&IDs, piping layouts, and mechanical drawings.
• Support design packages including general arrangement drawings and equipment layouts.
• Prepare and maintain BOMs, equipment tags, and drawing lists.
• Coordinate with process, electrical, and civil designers.
• Conduct field visits to verify design compatibility.
• Maintain drawing documentation and version control.
• Assist QA/QC review before submittals.
