Our Lady of Mount Carmel School (OLMC) in Waterbury, CT, seeks a full-time P.E., Health, and Computer Science Teacher for the 2026-2027 year. The school emphasizes a faith-based curriculum, fully degreed faculty, and a wide range of activities.

The candidate will instruct middle school students, develop daily lesson plans addressing spiritual, physical, and cognitive growth, assess progress, and support students needing extra help.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of 2 years classroom experience, preferred.
• Understanding of common sports, physical activities / P.E. games.
• Understanding of nutrition, sleep, and physical activity important to overall health and wellbeing.
• Demonstrated ability to create engaging, age-appropriate lessons.
• Commitment to fostering a nurturing, inclusive, and faith-based environment.
• Employees are expected to support and uphold the mission and values of Catholic education; a practicing member of the Catholic faith, preferred.
• Full Time (Hours: 8:00-4:00)

Responsabilités

• Create an engaging learning environment that fosters academic and spiritual growth.
• Develop and implement daily lesson plans addressing spiritual, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.
• Report participation grades for each Trimester Progress Report and Report Card.
• Facilitate P.E. lessons using the F.O.R.M. curriculum for Pre-K through 8th grade, indoors and outdoors.
• Facilitate health lessons provided by the F.O.R.M. curriculum for Grades K-5.
• Incorporate Chromebook and iPads for coding, typing, and learning software.
• Present lessons on digital citizenship, computer science vocabulary, and internet safety.
• Use diverse instructional techniques such as modeling, observing, questioning, demonstrating, and reinforcing.
• Adapt curriculum to meet individual learning needs.
• Promote positive behavior and adherence to school policies.
• Maintain positive communication with families.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in annual reviews and professional development.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff.
