The ideal candidate will review applications, assess risk, and determine coverage terms while collaborating with underwriting staff. A Bachelor's degree in a related field and 3+ years of underwriting experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Business, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in the insurance industry, preferably in underwriting.
• Strong knowledge of property and casualty insurance products.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid insurance license in NY preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze insurance applications to assess risk and determine coverage eligibility.
• Collaborate with underwriting managers to establish and enforce underwriting guidelines.
• Conduct market research and stay updated on industry trends to inform underwriting decisions.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive underwriting files and reports.
• Communicate with policyholders, agents, and other stakeholders to clarify questions and resolve issues.
• Stay compliant with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Identify and mitigate risks to ensure the financial stability of our insurance portfolio.
