Job summary

Con Edison is seeking a professional to join the Protective Relay Strategy Implementation (PRSI) team. This role focuses on redesigning P&C systems, testing, implementing, and maintaining standards, and advancing protection and control design across the electric network.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, analyze new hardware and software, support upgrades, and participate in emergency assignments and field deployments with travel and PPE compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and relevant relay protection experience.
• Experience in protection and/or control systems engineering disciplines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to write engineering specifications and standards.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop, test, implement, and maintain protection and control system standards.
• Research industry best practices and emerging technologies to support continual improvement.
• Perform engineering analyses, evaluate new hardware and software solutions, and support deployments.
• Support PRSI by implementing new strategies, initiatives, and processes for P&C design and reliability.
• Provide technical support to other PRSI functions including asset management and remote monitoring.
• Oversee vendor activities and perform technical reviews to ensure engineering standards.
• Maintain communication with stakeholders to implement relay protection standards and manage expectations.
