The State of South Carolina Department of Insurance is seeking an Insurance Regulatory Analyst II in the Office of Consumer Services. The role focuses on reviewing complaints, responding to consumer needs in P&C and LA&H products, and assisting agencies and the public after disasters.

The position includes training staff and representing the department at outreach events. Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or 3 years’ experience as a Licensed Insurance Producer or Insurance CSR,

Qualifikationen

• Experience as a Licensed Producer or Insurance CSR servicing P&C and/or LA&H products.
• Direct experience with flood insurance and catastrophe management.
• Knowledge of state and federal insurance laws and regulations.
• Knowledge of underwriting and claims in the insurance industry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to present clear, concise reports in writing and orally.
• A writing sample will be required.
• Ability to analyze facts and reach sound conclusions.
• Ability to establish & maintain effective relationships with the public, insurers, and industry representatives.
• Ability to respond professionally in all situations.
• Strong computer skills: Access, Excel, Publisher, MS Office and Adobe programs.
• Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and prioritize multiple projects.
• Expertise in SC insurance programs, functions, and activities.

Aufgaben

• Reviews, investigates, and tracks written complaints and inquiries.
• Responds to consumer needs relating to P&C and LA&H products and assists market accessibility.
• Assists state government agencies and consumers after catastrophes.
• Provides training, assistance, and mentoring to other staff.
• Represents the Department at public outreach events and educational forums.
• Provides primary support to the Office of Consumer Services Administrative Staff including Call Center operations.
