Job summary

MFA Incorporated is seeking a skilled insurance and finance professional to lead procurement of property/casualty coverage, manage claims processes, and perform related accounting tasks. The role supports MFA’s mission of serving farmers and ranchers with responsible risk management.

The ideal candidate has a BS in business and 3+ years in insurance, finance, or accounting, and can work cross-functionally with brokers, agronomy, and store operations.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in business related studies or equivalent experience.
  • 3 or more years in insurance, finance, or accounting fields preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the negotiation and procurement of all property/casualty insurance coverage.
  • Coordinate and monitor all processes related to property/casualty claims activity, including payment of insurance claims and premiums.
  • Prepare accounting allocations for insurance premiums and claims costs, and reconcile insurance-related GL accounts.
  • Coordinate with MFA’s insurance broker to assist with policy renewal processes for all corporate property and casualty policies.
  • Evaluate broker proposals to determine premiums, deductibles, and coverages for renewals.
  • Provide reports and advice to upper management on insurance matters including financial, legal and accounting implications.
  • Work with claims processors, broker, and MFA personnel to resolve claims timely.
  • Coordinate with adjusters on processed claims.
  • Assist agronomy department and store managers to resolve liability disputes with MFA farmers/customers promptly.
  • Coordinate with accounts payable for timely payment of premiums and claims.
