Job Description

The enterprise P&C Associate Actuary - Reserving job is responsible for developing, managing, and leading projects in support of reserving insurance business utilizing accepted actuarial and statistical standards, methodologies, and knowledge. This role works closely with analytics senior leadership and key business partners to develop and execute appropriate reserving strategies of high complexity to support business goals related to lines and geographic areas. Oversight for managing a team of analysts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for actuarial reserving of private passenger auto physical damage coverages, homeowners, and specialty personal lines business.
  • Develops and ensures appropriateness of highly complex, high-impact actuarial/statistical analyses/methodologies to influence business decisions within a specific geographic/line focus.
  • Leverages understanding of insurance business, products, markets, and regulatory environment to influence pricing, reserving, modeling strategies, and business decisions.
  • Responsible for selecting, reviewing, using, and ensuring quality of data used for moderate to highly complex actuarial and statistical services and determining appropriate tool utilization.
  • Leads a team and provides input on talent management to leadership.
  • Reviews, evaluates, and communicates the appropriateness of highly complex actuarial/modeling techniques and results to team, leadership, and external groups to influence business decisions.
  • Plans, implements, manages, and/or contributes to large-scale projects of moderate to high complexity using accepted project management standards.
  • Provides technical leadership, including contributions to improvement, development, and innovation, often serving as a subject matter expert.
  • Ensures high-quality data and information are provided in a timely manner to key stakeholders for auditing and actuarial opinions.
Education
  • 4-year Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
  • Must have achieved the ACAS/FCAS designation
Experience
  • 7 or more years of experience (Preferred)

Compensation

Offered salary ranges from $112,000 to $196,750 annually, based on experience and qualifications.

The candidate will be required to submit to a background investigation. Allstate generally does not sponsor employment-based visas for this role.
