Job Description

The P&C Actuarial Assistant is responsible for executing projects to support insurance pricing, utilizing accepted actuarial and statistical standards. This role collaborates closely with analytics management and key business partners to develop pricing, modeling, and product strategies of low to moderate complexity aligned with business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform analysis using best practices with limited coaching, applying traditional actuarial, statistical, and predictive modeling techniques, including proper documentation and evaluation.
  • Communicate analysis results to management and non-technical stakeholders, providing recommendations and justifications for assumptions and methodologies.
  • Manage or contribute to moderate-scale projects using accepted project management standards with limited guidance.
  • Review and ensure data quality within multiple tools and applications with limited coaching.
  • Leverage understanding of insurance products, markets, and regulations to inform business strategies and decisions, building expertise in a specialized area.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, math, statistics, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience, including at least one year in property and casualty pricing, reserving, or modeling.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Actuarial pursuit (e.g., candidate for actuarial designation).

Functional Skills:

  • Proficiency with various tools, data sources, and applications.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience modifying predictive models to suit specific needs.
  • Programming skills and ability to handle large datasets.
  • Basic knowledge of insurance products, risk management, and regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work well in teams.

Skills: Data Analysis

Compensation: $66,800 - $120,650 annually, based on experience and qualifications.

Applicants will be required to undergo a background check.
