Summary

Overview and Responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated CDL Local Delivery Driver of Medical Equipment to join our Transfill Division. This position is responsible for transporting oxygen, home healthcare/medical equipment, and supplies to specified locations. In the State of CO, this position pays between $24/hr. - $25/hr. depending on related experience and location.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Assist with implementation of quality improvement programs to meet company and JCAHO standards.
  • Complete written production and delivery documents accurately and legibly.
  • Comply with all applicable company policies, procedures, and FDA guidelines for storage and handling of medical gases.
  • Determine appropriate corrective actions for safety hazards or incidents.
  • Assess when equipment or vehicle is unsafe.
  • Develop technical knowledge of DME/HME or respiratory products and services provided by the company.
  • Maintain a clean and safe truck and trailer area in accordance with City, State, and Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Participate in regular hazardous material handling training.
  • Pass and maintain vendor training classes and become certified per manufacturer’s training.
  • Perform deliveries and process all orders in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Report equipment hazards and/or product incidents in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Transport oxygen, home healthcare/medical equipment, and supplies to specified locations.

Qualifications

  • Employment contingent on background investigation and a 10-panel DOT drug test.
  • Valid driver’s license in the state of residence with a clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or GED; meet DOT qualifications.
  • One to three years of related work experience.
  • Valid CDL with a clean record; Hazmat endorsement preferred but not required (must obtain after employment).

  • Effective communication skills in English, both oral and written.
  • Knowledge of DME or HME.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn.
  • Multi-tasking, attention to detail, and basic math skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, with good time management and problem-solving skills.

Physical Demands

  • Lift over 100 lbs regularly.
  • Close vision for reading small print.
  • Driving company vehicle most of the workday.
  • Ability to load, unload, push, pull, and lift equipment.

Machines, Equipment, and Technical Abilities

  • Email, internet, Microsoft Office applications, and office equipment.
  • Operate vehicles over 26,001 GVW and loading/unloading machinery.
  • Understanding of home medical equipment and supplies.
