Job summary

OxyChem in Pasadena, TX, is seeking a Vibration Analyst to join our safety‑driven team. You will collect and analyze vibration data, report findings, and help optimize rotating equipment reliability, working with other process information such as pressures and temperatures.

The role requires 2+ years of vibration monitoring, reading P&IDs and diagrams, SAP knowledge, and strong communication skills. Occasional overtime and 24/7 plant support may be needed.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years vibration monitoring experience including solving machine problems.
  • Able to read P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
  • English reading/writing and strong communication skills.
  • Overtime, weekends and holidays as needed to maintain a 24/7 operating plant.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Physical ability to lift 40 lbs and wear PPE.
  • SAP knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Vibration data collection and analysis.
  • Timely reporting of vibration analysis findings and recommendations.
  • Provide troubleshooting by evaluating vibration patterns and incorporating other process information.
  • Maintain vibration database.
  • Support the development of equipment maintenance strategies related to vibration analysis monitoring.
  • Repair shop acceptance testing as needed.
  • Provide call out coverage as needed.
  • Assist with failure analysis of rotating equipment to determine root causes of failure and help determine solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide oversight and mentoring to less experienced Millwrights and Vibration Technicians.

Position: Vibration Analyst

Location: Pasadena Plant, Pasadena, TX.

Essential Job Duties
  • Vibration data collection and analysis
  • Timely reporting of vibration analysis findings and recommendations
  • Provide troubleshooting support and solve equipment problems by evaluating vibration patterns and incorporating other process information such as pressures, temperatures, flows, sound, etc.
  • Maintain vibration database
  • Support the development of equipment maintenance strategies related to vibration analysis monitoring
  • Repair shop acceptance testing as needed
  • Provide call out coverage as needed
  • Assist with failure analysis of rotating equipment to determine root causes of failure and help determine solutions to prevent recurrence
  • Provide oversight and mentoring to less experienced Millwrights and Vibration Technicians
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • ISO Category II Certification from an accredited certification provider (Vibration Institute, Mobius, Technical Associates, etc.)
  • 2 or more years of vibration monitoring experience including solving machine problems using vibration analysis
  • Must be able to read process flow diagrams, P&IDs, mechanical drawings and follow mechanical specifications.
  • Able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed to maintain a 24/7 operating plant.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to read, speak, and write English.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), and good working knowledge of SAP.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Physical requirements – Must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs, walk, bend, stoop, wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator, and respond to visual and audible alarms.
Additional Desired Qualifications
  • Good working knowledge of SAP.
