Job summary

Metric DCX is seeking an owner's-side MEP Systems Engineer to translate hyperscale AI compute requirements into facility design standards and to hold every design to them.

You will own the basis of design for power distribution, direct-to-chip liquid cooling, redundancy, and BMS/EPMS controls, guiding third-party builds and commissioning through first-time-right turnover.

This role requires 10+ years of data center experience and strong knowledge of NEC/NFPA/IEEE/ASHRAE standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in mechanical/electrical engineering for data centers or critical facilities.
• Deep working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, ASHRAE standards.
• Owner-side design review experience with accountability for deviations and cost.

Responsibilities

• Own facility basis of design for power, cooling, redundancy, and BMS/EPMS.
• Translate AI hardware needs into rack- and room-level specs and update standards.
• Review third-party designs for AI-readiness and provide costed recommendations.
• Lead design reviews and push prefabricated solutions to save time and cost.
• Oversee commissioning from owner's side to turnover.
