Job summary

Colliers Project Leaders in Florida seeks a Project Manager to lead municipal, K-12 and higher ed projects, coordinating design, construction and closeout to meet owners' goals.

You will build client relationships, manage multiple projects, and supervise staff while ensuring quality, schedule and budget adherence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, construction management, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in building design, construction, architecture, and/or engineering.
  • Municipal, K-12 and/or Higher Ed experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of permitting and zoning laws.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, project management, and financial management; codes and legislation.
  • Experience with client relations, design, construction, and FF&E processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Desire to promote and drive project implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage concurrent construction projects from start to finish, on time and on budget.
  • Build strong client relationships and coordinate the right personnel for innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrate understanding of project management roles and manage dynamics among architects, engineers and consultants.
  • Manage client goals within financial and schedule parameters for multiple stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate scheduling, logistics, cost, quality and progress issues; negotiate claims and change orders.
  • Review budgets, schedules, drawings, specifications, contracts and proposals for conformance to goals and value engineering.
  • Develop project documents such as monthly reports, budgets, schedules and minutes, and review for accuracy.
  • Oversee staff delivery, performance and project commitments.

Overview

Colliers Project Leaders is looking for a Project Manager to join us in Florida! At Colliers Project Leaders we help leaders advance the built environment by assisting them to build amazing workplaces, businesses, and communities around the world. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the project management/owner’s representation services on Municipal, K-12 and Higher Ed projects to ensure the success of owners, and occupants. This will include active management of the design, construction, and closeout phases of building projects.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage one or more concurrent construction projects from start to finish – on time and on budget.
  • Build strong, trusting client relationships and bring the right people together to come up with innovative ideas and solutions.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the project management process and roles of each team member, including the architects, engineers, and other consultants, and manage all these dynamics.
  • Manage the process and ensure the clients’ goals and objectives are being addressed and met within the financial and schedule parameters for multiple stakeholders.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate issues related to scheduling, logistics, sequencing, cost, quality, and progress as well as negotiating claims and change orders.
  • Review and evaluate project related materials such as project descriptions, drawings and specifications, budgets, schedules, contracts, and proposals for services prepared by others, as well as review construction documents on a regular basis for conformance to project goals, value engineering and constructibility.
  • Develop project related documents such as monthly reports, budgets, schedules, presentations, minutes, insurance tracking logs, etc. and review documents prepared by internal team members for accuracy and reporting purposes.
  • Oversee and manage staff with respect to deliverables, performance, and project commitments.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree preferably in architecture, construction management, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in the building design / construction, architecture, and/or engineering field.
  • Prior experience with Municipal, K-12 and/or Higher Ed preferred.
  • Knowledge of permitting and zoning laws.
  • Strong knowledge of various construction methodologies, project management models and financial management, as well as building codes, contract law and relevant legislation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the client relations, design, construction, and FF&E process.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage various tasks, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Enthusiasm to promote and drive implementation of projects.
  • Professionally recognized designations are considered a strong asset.
