Job summary

APSI Construction Management is seeking a Construction Manager to serve as the Owner’s Agent (CMa) for a USPS renovation project in Gardner, Kansas. The role involves coordinating major mechanical/electrical upgrades, IT and security improvements, and site work on a 1,000,000 sq ft facility while operations continue.

The CMa will lead safety, schedule, cost control, and contractor coordination, ensuring contract compliance and effective communication among stakeholders throughout construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required and 5+ years in construction management.
• Experience as Owner's Agent (CMa) on complex renovations preferred.
• Ability to manage construction in a partially occupied facility.

Responsibilities

• Act as the project’s primary Construction Manager and ensure safety and contract compliance.
• Coordinate submittal reviews and manage the submittal process with the General Contractor.
• Monitor project financial data and administer change orders.
• Maintain the project schedule and address slippages with stakeholders.
• Lead project meetings, document actions, and track issues to resolution.
• Support commissioning, testing, and coordination of facility start-up activities.
