Job summary

GFA Alabama, Inc. in Savannah, GA is seeking experienced Class A professional owner-operators to join our growing logistics team. You will plan routes and meet delivery schedules while transporting containers across the Southeast region.

We offer consistent freight volumes, drop-and-hook freight, and weekly settlements via direct deposit. Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of Class A CDL driving experience, a clean MVR, and a strong focus on safety and timeliness.

Qualifications

• Must be 23 years of age.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent driving experience with a Class A CDL.
• Must have own tag - we do not offer a tag program.
• TWIC card is recommended but not necessary.
• Smart phone or tablet for ELD.
• Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, ELD).
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
• Clean MVR.
• Accident Free.
• Valid Class A license and medical card.
• Weekly settlement through direct deposit.

Responsibilities

We are seeking safe and courteous business-minded drivers to transport containers in the rapidly expanding Southeast regional market.

What you will be doing:

• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
• Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipt
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Collect and verify delivery instructions
• Report defects, accidents or violations

What you should have:

• Must be 23 years of age
• Proven work experience as a truck driver. Minimum of 2 years of recent driving experience with a Class A CDL
• Must have own tag - we do not offer a tag program
• TWIC card is recommended but not necessary
• Smart phone or tablet for ELD
• Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, ELD)
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
