Carl Buddig and Company, a long-standing meat producer, seeks a diligent OW Packer to support packaging operations across the production line. You will ensure adherence to GMP, HACCP, and SQF standards while maintaining product quality and timely output.

This role emphasizes teamwork, accuracy, and compliance in a fast-paced facility. Responsibilities cover procedural adherence, labeling accuracy, product staging, and safe handling, with overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • General Labor employee will need to implement proper procedures for the Packaging department.
  • Ensures a complete understanding of GMPs, HACCP, and SQF guidelines.
  • Ensures they know and understand the process for De-clipped summer product at the de-clipping stations.
  • Know and understand the process for inspecting summer products for defects after the de-clipping station.
  • Know and understand the process to load meat product into film pockets.
  • Employee will ensure they know and understand the process to inspect package integrity at the inspection table.
  • Know and understand the process of packaging the product into boxes, following the packaging counts and format.
  • General Labor employees will need to ensure they know and understand the process of palletizing, following the pallet pattern per product.
  • General Labor employees will need to ensure that they know and understand the process of reviewing product labels.
  • General Labor employees will need to ensure they know and understand the process to load product onto the cutting equipment, based on product size and species.
  • General Labor employees will need to ensure they know and understand the process of labeling food contact containers accordingly based on the proper product ID.
  • General Labor employees will need to ensure they know and understand the process of Cover products properly to prevent cross-contamination.
  • General Labor employees will need to ensure they know and understand the process to Stage product containers, follow proper lot numbers, and species.
  • General Labor employees will need to ensure they know and understand the process to load stick product by counts or weight into film pockets.
  • General Labor employees will need to ensure they know and understand the process of inspecting stick packages at the inspection table.
  • General Labor employees will need to ensure they know and understand the process to package stick packages following the packaging format.
  • General Labor employees will need to ensure they know and understand the process to palletize, following the stick pallet pattern.
  • General Labor employees will need to ensure that they know and understand the process of performing sanitarian tasks as assigned, helping maintain packaging rooms in clean conditions.
  • General Labor employees will need to be familiar with and understand the process of stocking PPE in designated areas.

Position Summary

The OW Packer will effectively coordinate their workloads, providing support to ensure that the team delivers, monitors any issues, and ensures product is developed successfully, and quality standards are met to meet the requirements of the customer.

Education and Experience

Working Conditions
  • Must be able to work 40 or more hours per week.
  • Must be able to work in temperatures of 40 degrees or less.
  • Must be able to work mandatory overtime if necessary
  • Must adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Must be able to stand for 10 hours per day.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and squat as needed for housekeeping responsibilities and other miscellaneous duties.
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.
  • Must have good hand/eye coordination.
  • Must be highly attentive to detail (i.e., meat type/film/date).
Compensation and Benefits

Pay rate for this position is $18.00 per hour.
