Job summary

Outside In is seeking a Resident Services Navigator to support youth aged 18–24 in the onsite Transitional Living program. The role emphasizes mentorship, relationship-building, and crisis response to help residents achieve their goals.

The position requires regular on-site presence, teamwork with program staff, and use of harm-reduction approaches. Candidates should have experience with at-risk youth and a commitment to cultural humility and youth participation.

Qualifications

• Two years’ relevant experience working with at-risk youth, homeless youth and/or in a shelter or transitional housing program.
• Experience, ability, and commitment to work with sexual minorities and culturally diverse staff, participants, and community.
• Commitment to youth participation and involvement in individual and program planning and evaluation.
• Knowledge of service systems and clinical issues related to out-of-home youth.

Responsibilities

• Support Residents in the Transitional Living Program.
• Build positive relationships through role modeling and mentoring.
• Provide crisis counseling services on site as needed.
• Utilize harm reduction philosophy in problem solving to help residents identify healthier options.
• Engage residents in life skills building through individual coaching and group activities.
• Provide support for youth to accomplish goals identified in their Service Plan.
• Provide individualized support to youth as a Contact Person and monitor weekly plans.
• Facilitate weekly pod meetings and quarterly all-resident meetings.
