• 1-year experience with Associate’s Degree, or 3 years with High School Diploma in behavioral health.

Job description

Homestead serves Adolescents who are at risk for psychiatric inpatient hospitalization in a multi-faceted, comprehensive, community-based residential program.

Position Title: Homestead Overnight Residential Counselor
Position Type: Full Time; 35 Hours/Weekly; Overnight Shifts with Shift Differentials
Benefits Eligible: Yes
Location: Toms River, NJ
Department: Homestead
Salary: $19.00 with $1.50 shift differential for overnight shifts

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct supervision of adolescents
• Provide supportive counseling, daily living skills, skills building, psychoeducational groups, recreation activities and transportation
• Assist child with integration back to community setting
• Responsible for behavior management plans
• Supervise clients self-administering medication in conjunction with Doctor and Nurse

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or a related Human Services field (Social Work, Education, Criminal Justice) OR
• Associate’s Degree with one year of experience OR
• High School Diploma with 3 years direct care experience in a behavioral health agency or institutional setting
