Fairmont Grand Del Mar in San Diego is seeking a security-focused, full-time team member dedicated to guest and staff safety in a luxury setting. You will be attentive, efficient and uphold Forbes Travel Guide standards to ensure a safe, enjoyable workplace and travel destination.

Responsibilities include welcoming guests with exceptional service, maintaining safety procedures, and collaborating with other departments during peak times while maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
• Must possess good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must possess basic computer skills and basic computational ability.
• Knowledge of resort operations, services and facilities is a plus.

Job Description

Guardian and Protector. You ensure the safety and wellbeing of your fellow employees, guests and visitors. You are attentive, efficient and committed, and will ensure your property remains a safe, enjoyable workplace and travel destination.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a positive first impression of the resort for our guests through detailed cleanliness, set-up and ambiance control.
• Provide unique experiences to all of our guests through warm, personal & detailed service in a luxury, upscale and fast paced environment in accordance to our Forbes Travel Guide standards.
• Remember individual’s names and their preferences to extend a personalized service.
• Assist other rooms division departments with their operations during peak times or when required.
• Apply necessary precautions with regards to the hotel safety.
• Be well versed in hotel fire & life safety/emergency procedures.
• Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.
• Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Management of the Hotel.

• Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach different outlets and other departments of the Resort on a timely basis.
• Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
• Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
• Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.
• Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
• Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
• Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, 10-key adding machine, electric typewriter, multi-line touch tone phone, filing cabinets, FAX machines, photocopiers, dolly and other office equipment as needed.

Grooming

• All Colleagues must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per Fairmont Grand Del Mar standards. A conservative, simple and elegant style is preferred.

Wage Information

The hourly rate for this position is $24.11

• In addition to the base hourly rate, colleagues will receive an Overnight Premium of $1.00 per hour for all hours worked during designated overnight shifts.
