BluePearl Pet Hospital in Conshohocken, PA is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our Overnight Critical Care team. You will monitor hospitalized patients, assist with critical procedures, and support real-time decisions to deliver life-saving care.

This role offers a $3,000 sign-on bonus based on credentialing and experience, plus competitive shift differentials and growth opportunities through our competency assessment tool and ongoing education.

Qualifications

• Experience in ICU/critical care nursing for veterinary patients.
• Ability to monitor vitals and respond to changes quickly.
• Proficient in administering medications and fluids.

Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor critical patients (vitals, ECG, BP, oxygenation).
• Administer medications, CRIs, blood products, fluids, and emergency drugs.
• Manage oxygen therapy, ventilators, feeding tubes, catheters, chest tubes, and central lines.
• Assist with CPR, intubation, thoracocentesis, wound care, and stabilization.
• Perform diagnostics: blood draws, labs, imaging prep, sample collection.
• Provide pain management and comfort for trauma, post-op, or complex cases.
• Reassess patients frequently and communicate updates to vets.
• Educate owners during critical hospitalizations and update records.

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Conshohocken, PA is hiring a skilled and dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our Overnight Critical Care team!

In this role, you'll sharpen your critical thinking and grow your skills while managing a variety of hospitalized cases. Play a vital role in real-time decisions and delivering life-saving care when pets need it most.

This position is eligible for up to a $3,000 sign on bonus based on credentialing and experience.

Schedule: 3x12s

Pay: $22.15 - $44.00 / hour + competitive shift differentials

This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience.

We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends. For example:

• Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = $3.50 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $3.50 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.00 Shift Differential

Duties a n ICU/Critical Care Technician:

• Continuous monitoring of critical patients (vitals, ECG, blood pressure, oxygenation, neurologic status)
• Administering medications, CRIs, blood products, fluids, and emergency drugs
• Managing oxygen therapy, ventilators, feeding tubes, urinary catheters, chest tubes, and central lines
• Assisting with emergency procedures such as CPR, intubation, thoracocentesis, wound care, and stabilization
• Performing diagnostics like blood draws, lab work, imaging prep, and sample collection
• Pain management and patient comfort for trauma, post-op, or medically complex cases
• Frequent reassessment and recognizing subtle changes in condition quickly
• Communicating updates to veterinarians and collaborating on treatment plans
• Educating and updating pet owners during critical hospitalizations
• Maintaining detailed medical records and treatment sheets
