Job description

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring experienced Licensed Veterinary Technicians to work overnight in our busy Emergency department in Olympia, WA.

LVT Pay: $24 - $47 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and depends on experience and advancement through the Kahuna leveling system.

We offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked during nights and weekends.
*Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.

Examples:

• Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.00 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.00 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.50 Shift Differential

BluePearl Specialty + Emergency Pet Hospital offers an exciting, fast-paced role for Veterinary Technicians to utilize and expand their skills while working alongside talented veterinary professionals.

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia, using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases, obtain vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique and positioning.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Understanding normal ranges of patient vital signs, including heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
• Interpreting vital signs, alerting Veterinarian to changes.
• Identifying patients at risk for arrest and initiating CPR.
• Calculating medical math (including CRIs) and administering medications appropriately.
• Performing phlebotomy and placing IV catheters.

Other duties:

• Placing and maintaining feeding tubes and central lines.
• Mentoring and training colleagues.
• Addressing client concerns with patience and empathy.
