BluePearl Pet Hospital in Brentwood, TN is seeking experienced Overnight Emergency Veterinary Technicians to join our fast-paced ER team.

Shifts are 12 hours with 7:00 PM–7:00 AM or 7:30 PM–7:30 AM options; pick Wed/Thu/Fri, or Sun/Wed/Thu, or Wed/Thu plus alternating Sat/Sun. Competitive pay $21.00–$41.00 per hour plus a sign-on bonus up to $2,500 and night/weekend differentials. Nashville area benefits and growth opportunities included.

Qualifications

• Overnight emergency veterinary technician experience required.
• Ability to perform phlebotomy and place IV catheters.
• Comfort working with critically ill or injured patients and clients.

Responsabilités

Flexible overnight schedule options available! Choose from one of the following 12-hour shifts:

• Wed/Thurs/Fri
• Sun/Wed/Thurs
• Wed/Thurs and every other Sat/Sun

All shifts are available as either 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM or 7:30 PM - 7:30 AM.

Pay:

$21.00 - $41.00 / hour

Sign-on bonus of up to $2,500 based on experience and applicable licensure

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through our leveling system

We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends.*Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.

Weekday Night (Mon-Fri 6P to 8A): $3.00

Weekend Day (Sat-Sun 8A-6P): $3.00

Weekend Night (Sat-Sun 6P-8A): $4.50

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Performs physical exam; accurately counts heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
• Understands normal vital parameters and alerts doctor when abnormal.
• Performs phlebotomy.
• Ability to place peripheral intravenous catheter in cephalic vein.
• Able to read and follow orders written on treatment sheet accurately and in a timely manner.
• Alerts veterinarian if a patient's status has changed and/or physical exam or monitoring parameters are outside of normal ranges.
• Calculates basic medical math.
• Understands classification of commonly used medications, associated side effects and appropriately monitors therapeutic response.
• Administers medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Prepares medications and patient for discharge and communicates discharge instructions to client.
• Maintains solid grasp of common veterinary medical terms and abbreviations and can converse with other veterinary professionals in medical terms.
• Able to address client concerns and answer them appropriately during visits, updates, or after hospitalization, for their skill set. Quickly and competently facilitates incoming calls.
• Implement appropriate animal husbandry skills to decrease disease spread, injury and stress to patients.
• Provides nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
• Possesses a working knowledge of anesthesia/monitoring equipment and assist with patients assigned ASA I or II classifications.
• Remains current on R.E.C.O.V.E.R CPR guidelines and demonstrates proficiency in designated role as assigned by attending clinician and/or supervisor.
