VCA Veterinary Emergency Service & Veterinary Specialty Center is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Assistant to join our fast-paced, high-stakes emergency team. You will support veterinarians and technicians during surgeries and critical care, care for emergency patients, and communicate clearly with pet owners about their pets' condition and care steps.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting emergency procedures and critical care.
• Ability to monitor vital signs and administer medications as directed.
• Strong communication with clients about pet condition and care.
• Maintain readily available emergency equipment and supplies.
• Collaborate closely with veterinarians and technicians during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in Emergency Procedures: Support veterinarians and technicians during emergency surgeries, trauma care, and critical treatments.
• Patient Care: Provide compassionate and attentive care to emergency patients, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and providing comfort.
• Client Communication: Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing them with updates and information about their pet's condition and care instructions.
• Maintain Equipment and Supplies: Ensure that all emergency equipment is properly maintained and that supplies are well-stocked and ready for use.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with our emergency veterinary team to ensure the highest standard of care and a seamless operation during emergencies.

Compensation

Starting range is determined by license, skill set, and years of experience in the field

Schedule

Full-time, 4 x10 hour shifts, 3rd shift/Overnight
