Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Monroeville, PA is seeking an Overnight Treatment Veterinary Technician to monitor patients overnight, manage vital signs, and perform phlebotomy and IV placements. The role includes radiography, dosing calculations, and CPR as needed.

Compensation ranges from $21.10 to $40.60 per hour with experience-based advancement. Shift differentials apply for nights and weekends; VTS credentialing may adjust compensation. Equal opportunity employer.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring stable patients overnight, assessing behavioral changes and pain score.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
• Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
• Be proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
• Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
• Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
• Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
