Job Responsibilities:
  • Plan, direct, and supervise team members in daily store operations across various departments.
  • Serve as a mentor and coach for team members.
  • Implement strategies to improve customer service, drive sales, and ensure efficient service.
  • Maintain store appearance, focusing on prime shopping hours, product presentation, and standards.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Ensure a positive company image through courteous, friendly, and efficient service.
  • Manage staffing, recruitment, and hiring processes.
  • Promote career development and succession planning, including involvement in promotion decisions.
  • Handle disciplinary actions and make recommendations regarding terminations.
  • Oversee P&L, sales targets, and shrink control.
  • Model exceptional customer service.
  • Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in meetings and conversations.
  • Mentor and coach team members to exceed service and sales goals, maintaining standards.
  • Ensure thorough training for all team members.
  • Spend significant time interacting with customers and team members within the store.
  • Promote a safe work environment.
  • Maintain reliable and consistent attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of retail experience.
  • At least one year of management experience.
  • Experience in various store areas such as meat, bakery, produce, deli, and customer service.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and provide precise direction.
  • Conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Analytical skills for financial and statistical decision-making.
  • Ability to teach suggestive selling techniques.
  • Commitment to practicing safe working habits.
  • Mentoring skills across organizational levels.
  • Completion of all required certifications.
