Job Responsibilities:
  • Plan, direct, and supervise team members in daily store operations across various departments.
  • Serve as a mentor and coach for all team members.
  • Implement strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales, and ensure customer needs are met efficiently.
  • Maintain store appearance, focusing on prime shopping hours, product presentation, and company standards.
What You'll be Doing:
  • Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
  • Oversee staffing, selection, and hiring to meet staffing needs.
  • Promote succession planning by providing career paths and identifying development needs for team members, participating in promotion decisions.
  • Handle disciplinary actions and make recommendations regarding discharge.
  • Manage P&L, achieve sales targets, and maintain departmental shrink levels.
  • Model exceptional, fast, and friendly customer service.
  • Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and conversations.
  • Mentor and coach team members to exceed customer service and sales goals, maintaining standards.
  • Ensure team members are thoroughly trained and have completed all required training.
  • Spend most of the time within the store engaging with customers and team members to ensure excellent service.
  • Promote a safe work environment.
  • Maintain reliable and consistent attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-3 years of related retail experience.
  • One year of management experience.
  • Experience in various store areas such as meat, bakery, produce, deli, and customer service is helpful.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to analyze financial and statistical data for decision-making.
  • Ability to teach suggestive selling techniques.
  • Commitment to practicing safe working habits at all times.
  • Ability to mentor team members across all organizational levels.
  • Successful completion of all required certifications.

We are committed to offering competitive pay that reflects market standards. The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $26.50, determined by experience, qualifications, and responsibilities.
