Job summary

Meijer in Alabama is seeking a Food Clerk to support our Fresh departments and deliver a welcoming store experience. You will stock, merchandise, and assist customers with product knowledge, helping them find what they need during busy shifts.

You’ll use technology to complete tasks accurately, follow food safety and quality procedures, and collaborate across Meat, Seafood, Bakery, Deli, Produce and Grocery to keep the store running smoothly and customers returning.

Qualifications

• Customer-first mindset and strong communication required.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain cleanliness.
• Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting, standing).
• Retail or food service experience helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers and help locate products in Fresh departments.
• Stock, rotate, and merchandise products to maintain displays.
• Use technology to complete tasks quickly and accurately.
• Work across departments including Meat, Seafood, Bakery, Deli, Produce and Grocery.
• Maintain inviting store displays and ensure stock accuracy.

This position is responsible for taking stock from either an l-cart or pallet and, with using the correct location codes provided on the box, put the stock in the correct location on the shelf and repeat this process until the assigned area is finished.
