Job summary

Meijer is seeking a Food Clerk to help keep our Fresh departments stocked, clean, and inviting. You will engage with customers, share product knowledge, and ensure displays are full and attractive.

This role keeps operations running smoothly in a fast-paced environment and offers opportunities for growth within a family-oriented company. Ideal candidates are friendly, detail-oriented, physically capable of standing for long periods, and comfortable learning store technology.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming store experience in Fresh departments
• Assist customers in finding products and sharing knowledge
• Keep product displays full, fresh, and attractive
• Stock, rotate, and merchandise items per standards
• Use store tech to complete tasks efficiently and accurately
• Follow food safety and sanitation procedures
• Collaborate across Meat, Seafood, Bakery, Deli, Produce and Grocery
• Support other tasks to keep store operations running smoothly
• Contribute to a clean and organized work area

This position is responsible for taking stock from either an l-cart or pallet and, with using the correct location codes provided on the box, put the stock in the correct location on the shelf and repeat this process until the assigned area is finished.

What You’ll Do

As a Food Clerk, you play a key role in creating a fresh, welcoming, and well‑run store experience within our Fresh departments.

You’ll

• Build positive connections with customers and teammates


• Share product knowledge and help customers find what they need


• Maintain full, fresh, and visually appealing product displays
  
• Stock, rotate, and merchandise product according to standards


• Use technology to complete tasks efficiently and accurately


• Follow food safety, sanitation, and quality procedures


• Work across departments including Meat, Seafood, Bakery, Deli, Produce and Grocery


• Support other tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly
