This position involves leading and directing the Shipping team, tracking team members' performance in ensuring accuracy, preventing damage, and operating equipment safely. The role requires close collaboration with warehouse leadership to ensure coordination and continuous improvement across activities and shifts.
Job Responsibilities
- Direct, supervise, and provide leadership to team members responsible for pulling, checking, and loading products, and track their performance.
- Manage team members' performance, focusing on accuracy, damage prevention, and safe equipment operation.
- Conduct management functions such as reviewing time-off requests and implementing disciplinary actions.
- Contribute to ongoing training related to products and workplace policies.
- Coordinate workflow with other leadership team members to ensure collaboration across warehouse activities and shifts; assign and ensure timely completion of tasks, including end-of-shift cleaning.
- Work with Facilities and Safety teams to troubleshoot equipment and infrastructure issues for continuous improvement.
- Participate in regular management reviews aimed at process improvement.
- Perform other duties as necessary to support the team.
Qualifications
- Experience in warehousing and distribution, preferably in the food industry.
- Leadership and conflict resolution skills; ability to communicate clearly and motivate a team.
- Ability to work independently and in a diverse team, adapting as needed.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and detail-oriented skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in operating manual and electric pallet jacks, and forklifts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Dynamics, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, and Word.
- On-call availability for emergencies.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work at a desk and on a computer for extended periods.
- Access to and navigation within all organization departments.
- Ability to bend, lift (at least 55 lbs.), stretch, climb ladders, and work across temperature zones.
- Ability to work at heights up to 60 feet using ladders, lifts, and MHE; operate equipment as needed.
- Physical ability to perform bending, sitting, standing, walking, and use of hands and voice.
