Job summary

Emend Healthcare Company AK LLC in Alaska is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician for the overnight shift to provide direct support to clients receiving behavioral health and substance use treatment. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Valid Alaska driver’s license.
• Ability to pass all required state and federal background screenings.
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Experience in residential treatment or substance use disorder settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision and support to clients within the treatment environment.
• Build rapport with clients and encourage participation in treatment activities.
• Monitor client behavior, safety, and wellbeing; communicate concerns to staff.
• Assist clients with daily living activities, transportation, appointments, meals, and community outings.
• Support crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed.
• Conduct room and safety checks, searches, and contraband monitoring.
• Collect and document urine drug screens.
• Assist with admissions, transitions, and discharges.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized treatment environment.
• Complete required documentation in the EHR and incident reports.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
• Participate in staff meetings and trainings.

Position Summary

The Behavioral Health Technician provides direct support services to clients receiving behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment services. The Behavioral Health Technician engages with clients throughout the treatment process. This position builds positive rapport, encourages participation in programming, and supports clients in achieving their treatment goals.

This position assists with client supervision, safety monitoring, transportation, and daily program operations. The Behavioral Health Technician works closely with clients and team members to help maintain a safe, structured, and respectful treatment environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision and support to clients within the treatment environment.
• Build positive rapport with clients and encourage participation in treatment activities, groups, and program expectations.
• Monitor client behavior, safety, and wellbeing and communicate concerns to appropriate staff.
• Assist clients with daily living activities, transportation, appointments, meals, and community outings as assigned.
• Support crisis intervention and de-escalation efforts as needed.
• Conduct room checks, safety checks, property searches, and contraband monitoring in accordance with organizational policies.
• Collect and document urine drug screens in accordance with program procedures.
• Assist with client admissions, room transitions, and discharge processes.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized treatment environment.
• Complete required documentation in the electronic health record (EHR), communication logs, and incident reports in a timely manner.
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 requirements.
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and other assigned duties.
