YWCA Greater Lafayette in Lafayette, IN seeks an Overnight Shelter Advocate to provide crisis intervention and safety planning for shelter residents overnight. You’ll respond to immediate needs, document services, and help residents access legal, medical, and social services through advocacy and referrals.

• A high school diploma and related experience.
• A compassionate, respectful approach to supporting people experiencing crisis.
• The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and respond calmly to stressful situations.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• A valid driver's license.
• Availability for overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of local community resources and support organizations is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Support survivors overnight by providing crisis intervention, completing intakes, and assisting with safety planning.
• Help maintain a safe, welcoming shelter by responding to resident needs and assisting with light cleaning and upkeep.
• Connect survivors with resources through advocacy and referrals to legal, medical, education, and social services.
• Keep information accurate and confidential by documenting services and maintaining records.
• Keep the team informed by communicating overnight concerns and sharing supplies needs.
• Participate in staff meetings and complete required continuing education.
