Job summary

Nurse Next Door San Mateo is seeking compassionate caregivers to provide in-home, nonmedical care for seniors in the San Mateo area. No prior experience is required, and paid training is provided.

We offer flexible hours from 10 to 40 hours per week, with morning, afternoon, evening, and overnight shifts available. As a Home care aide, you will help with ADLs, meal preparation, light housekeeping, transportation, and companionship, while ensuring safety and quality of care.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Current CA Home Care Aide Registry registration.
• Criminal background check completed.
• Plan to complete paid training per CA regulations.
• Evidence of tuberculosis testing with no active TB.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care.
• Self-directed with minimal supervision.
• Empathy for ill, injured, frail individuals.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Follow the client’s care plan as outlined by the Care Designer.
• Assist with ADLs and personal hygiene.
• Assist with transfers, mobility, and ambulation.
• Support prescribed exercises.
• Plan and prepare meals per therapeutic diets.
• Assist with bathroom needs and incontinence care.
• Perform housekeeping, laundry, shopping, and companionship.
• Provide medication reminders and report changes to supervisor.
• Complete service records and hours worked.
• Drive to appointments and run errands.
• Maintain CA Home Care Aide registration.
