Job summary

Securitas is seeking an Overnight Security Officer to join our West Des Moines team. You will monitor premises, manage access control, and patrol diverse sites to deter threats and ensure safety.

This full-time on-site role offers a starting wage of $19 per hour, opportunities for professional growth, and benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off. Candidates should have solid customer service skills and the ability to stay calm in stressful situations.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Above average computer/technology skills.
• Security, Law Enforcement, or Military experience a plus.
• Excellent customer service and team leadership skills.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must remain calm and professional during stressful situations.
• Attention to detail and vigilance.
• Professional demeanor.
• Respond to emergencies with rapid/effective judgment and escalation.
• Pre-employment screening including drug screen and background investigation.
• CPR certification.
• De-escalation skills.
• Clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Conflict resolution and de-escalation.
• Frequent interactions with client employees and guests.
• Identify and report safety issues, hazardous conditions, or any suspicious activity.
• Ensure that all post orders are followed and assigned rounds are completed.
• Provide customer service and information to the client’s employees and guests.
• Utilizing technology devices throughout shift.
• Conduct tours of the property.
• Carry out specific tasks and duties of similar nature and scope as required for assigned site.

They preserve order while enforcing regulations and directives for our client sites pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the area.

What You Can Expect
